Primo turns into grumpy old man.
Everyone who regularly reads this blog will know the high esteem in which we hold the Primeister. It is shame then to read (via spine) that his latest mixtape is taking aim at deejays using new technology. Being big fans of serato(and the future in general) it is sad to see people you respect taking such a narrow perspective on things. To be making ridiculous claims about the amount of talent need to make ‘authentic’ mixtapes just seems like a cheap shot at the majority of hiphop fans who don’t have access to D&D masters and aren’t best mates with Nas and the rest of hiphop royalty. That aside what the f**k has format got to do with it anyways. Best hiphop deejay for me right now is J-Rocc and he like every other hiphop deejay I’ve seen play recently is fully serato’d up.
If this weren’t bad enough, fader uncovers the real scoop; that 90% of the records on the damn mix have never been released on vinyl anyway!!
So go check out the mighty Syndromes 2 by J-Rocc (which is also all vinyl, but at least J-Rocc isn’t some enormous hypocrite)
