thanks giving (there’s a lot to be thankful for….)

It’s been some time since I last posted, what with a brief tour of Puerto Rico, some technical difficulties, some technical blessings, and a rather hectic schedule of gigs under my other guise as resident for Sambalanco.

We’re gearing up for an audible feast at Basilika towers. NEXT FRIDAY 26TH, Jak and I will be dropping celebratory pressure from 6 through till 2. The usual quick-finish jokes still apply, but as long as we remain masters of our own bar tab, and manage to stave off the ever present temptation to drop ‘Higher state of consciousness’ before 9.30pm, we should manage to rock out a half-passable selection of cris’ biscuits right through until 2.00am (After which I’ll no doubt be called on to carry Jak home, as per).

So, before that time, I’ve been reflecting on the things I have to be thankful for. It’s swings and roundabouts stuff really.

  1. Arsenal lose, but Henry stays. We got there, we didn’t win, but Thierry’s staked his claim. Marvellous stuff.
  2. National radio plays Isaac Hayes - ‘Ike’s Mood’ at near peak time. Yes we’ve lost Peel, yes Peterson’s on in the middle of the night, but all is not lost. Bravo Zane, you over-zealous loon. Radio1’s still better than anything Dutch. Just.
  3. England’s cities still embracing musical diversity. Unsung artists and DJ’s in the UK are still delivering wonderful new music. Ones to watch - Scrimshire, Red Rack’em, Jon Bilborough

That’ll do for now, I’ll be holding court down at SAMBALANCO this Saturday night, we’re proud to present local boys BLACKBEARD, who’ll no doubt kill it with their upfront selection of ahem, ‘pirate soul’. A rum-fuelled roadblock and no mistake. It’s good to be back, and it’s right to be civil. Love Christopher T(cakes)
