It feels wierd to be writing about the death of someone who is from your generation, as opposed to the death of some classic artist who despite their music touching you was from a different era. 32 is too young to die and yet his musical achievements and artistic legacy not only live on, but lay down a challenge to make the most of the time we are given.

Soulsides  has some classic J-Dilla tracks and Hiphop music has links to two hour long tribute mixes here and here.

Peace out.

i would like to add my condolsences to Jay’s family and close friends. I was just really getting in to J’s music and felt really weird when i was told this morning about Jay’s death. An amazing talent which is a huge loss.
