Respek

Here’s a re-rub of aretha franklin’s respect, me and brubeq knocked out, almost by accident a couple of months ago. I was playing around with a loop and he took started playing the 7 over the top, keeping it intime with his finger. I put it into ableton and sync’d it up properly a few weeks later.
I found it on my mac this weekend whilst preparing for a gig, burnt it off and played it out. Turns out it sounds okay (not that anyone could really hear it the sound was so bad). It’s one of those tunes that is certainly classic enough not to need some cack handed rerub but a little extra bottm end never hurt anybody.

    I think it needs a little more tweaking…listening to it through the computer it sounds a little off…the crash is too loud, sounds like it is going to go into Carl Douglas’s ‘Kung Fu Fighting’!!

    No freakin way. This is the best mix of one of my songs I’ve ever heard.Maybe your computer’s got a virus ?

    Tough one. Really nice break, think it needs something quite left rythmn wise to go against it, same with keys/strings, or it starts to sound too ‘nice’ & become the chillout track you don’t want it to be. Like to hear a vocal on there…
