The mighty Musicthing is running a week long celebration of dance music pioneer/disco’s Derek Smalls, Giorgo Moroder.All well as some fascinating articles about Giorgio’s contribution to the evolution of disco and house music there is a great interview from 1978 where he lays into Kraftwerk for being ’sellouts’-you can check it out here
Best of all Musicthing have unearthed a seemingly endless supply of photos of Giorgo, each more ridiculous than the last. I thought the photo above was in a class of it’s own, but oh-no it’s merely a taster. The Moroder special starts here and you can follow the links through to the rest of it-there’s a bonus picture section near the end, which is about the coolest thing I’ve seen all year.
What we need now is for someone to take one of the iconic handlebar shots-put it on a t-shirt with -’I feel love’ written underneath.
